- The 3S-GTE is a 1998 cc engine from Yamaha for toyota. it has same fitting as 3s engine but has extra features i-e turbocharge which gives extra boost to increase the bhp of engine
There are four generations of this engine, which started manufacture in 1986 and was built until 2007. The turbochargers used in the 3S-GTE engines are Toyota designs and use an internal wastegate design. it was installed in toyota MR2, celica and caldina.

In Pakistan most of 3sgte is used in toyota AE-100 in big cities of pakistan like Peshawar, Karachi and Islamabad. This engine can only be driven on hi-octane. if simple super is used, it leads to knocking of engine and causes crack of piston. most of people in Pakistan label this engine as weak engine but donot know the main reason why its piston cracks i-e the use of simple supreme. other issue faced is that it causes lot of wheel spin that can be reduced by installing slicks tires
how to increase bhp
one method is to change internal i-e install aftermarket piston rods and large turbo which will help to increase the boost
other method is to install front mount inter-cooler. 600cc injectors and spark plugs.
